PIK Robot D2 / Software for Automated facade design
Case
PIK Group of companies is the largest residential developer in Russia. PIK has set up a system approach to development of a large scale residential real estate. This approach is based on the application of building morphotypes depending on a master-plan, along with precise design methodology of the facades.

Simplex Noise role was to create software tools enabling to automate the design processes to speed up elaboration of numerous design options of the facades and increase the quality of conceptualization within continuously growing building volumes.

Project goals

- optimization and acceleration of the routine design processes;
- generation and evaluation of a variety of alternative design options for building facades
within tight deadlines;
- improvement of in-house architects work efficiency;
- automation of routine tasks;
- simplification of data transfer between specialists and departments;
- development of new design solutions based on algorithmic approach;

Solution

The key idea behind the developed solution is that the user can generate the building site development featuring the required parameters with a few mouse-clicks. The buildings will be automatically split into composite volumes, numerous architectural patterns will be generated, along with the automated distribution of windows, balconies, air conditioning covers, entrance groups, shell and core elements.

Users can easily update parameterized libraries of elements. During the project design stage a parameterized algorithm will offer the user only the elements applicable for a particular building part to avoid discrepancies.

Finally, our software solution allows to generate comprehensive 3D models, specifications of materials, urban-architectural solutions and extract any project data.
